1. Basic process

 

(polishing → polishing)→. Hanging → degreasing → oil removal → water washing →(electrolytic polishing or chemical polishing)→ pickling activation→(pre-plating)→ electric Plating → washing →(post-treatment)→ washing → drying → hanging → inspection of packaging

 

 

 

Two, the role of each process

 

1. Pre-treatment: All processes before plating are called pre-treatment.

The purpose is to trim the surface of the workpiece, remove the grease, rust, oxide film and so on, and provide the required electroplating surface for the deposition of the subsequent coating. Pre-treatment mainly affects the appearance and binding force. According to statistics,60% of defective electroplating products are caused by poor pre-treatment, so pre-treatment plays a very important role in electroplating process.

 

In the developed countries of electroplating technology, great importance is attached to the pre-treatment process, the pre-treatment process accounts for half or more of the whole electroplating process, so that the coating with good surface condition can be obtained and the defect rate can be greatly reduced.

 

Sandblasting: to remove corrosion, welding slag, carbon deposits, old paint layer, and other dry oil stains on the surface of parts; .

 

Remove sand and oxide skin from the surface of castings, forgings or heat-treated parts; Remove burrs and squares from the surface of parts

Tropic wear mark;

 

Reduce the roughness of parts to improve the adhesion of paints and other coatings; Make the parts show diffuse matting state polishing: remove the burr, rust, scratch, weld, weld, trachoma, oxide skin and other macro defects of the parts to improve the flatness and plating quality of the parts.

 

Polishing: The purpose of polishing is to further reduce the roughness of the surface of the part and obtain a bright appearance. There are mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, electrochemical polishing and so on.

 

Degreasing: Remove grease from the surface of the workpiece. There are organic solvent oil removal, chemical oil removal, electrochemical oil removal,

Wipe oil removal, rolling simple oil removal and other means. Pickling: Remove the surface rust and oxide film of the workpiece. There are chemical pickling and electrolysis

2. Electroplating

 

Getting the required coating on the workpiece surface is the core process of electroplating processing, and the advantages and disadvantages of this process are direct

The properties of the coating are affected. In this process, the factors that have an important impact on the coating mainly include the following aspects:+

 

① Main salt system

 

A variety of main salt systems and corresponding additive systems can be developed for each type of plating.

 

Such as galvanizing cyanide galvanizing, zincate galvanizing, chloride galvanizing (or called potassium galvanizing). Ammonia salt galvanized, sulfate galvanized and other systems

Each system has its own advantages and disadvantages, such as good dispersion ability and depth ability of cyanidation galvanized solution, fine crystallization of the coating, good adhesion with the substrate, good corrosion resistance, wide process range. The plating solution is stable, easy to operate and less sensitive to impurities. But highly toxic, serious pollution of the environment

 

Chloride galvanizing solution is a single salt plating solution without complexing agent. The brightness and leveling of the coating is better than other systems: high current efficiency, fast deposition speed: low hydrogen overpotential steel such as high carbon steel, castings, forgings and so on easy plating. However, the weak acidity of chloride ion is corrosive to the equipment. On the other hand, this kind of plating solution is not suitable for the deep hole or tubular parts that need to add auxiliary anode.

 

Additive additives include gloss agent, stabilizer, softener, wetting agent, low zone location agent, etc.

Gloss agent is divided into main gloss agent, carrier brightener and auxiliary gloss agent. For the same - main salt system, the quality of the coating varies greatly with the additives made by different manufacturers. Overall and blind Europe and the United States and Japan and other developed countries the most additives. Well, Taiwan is second, and mainland products are comparatively inferior to the first two categories.

 

The combination of the main salt and the specific manufacturer's additive determines the overall performance of the bath used. Be excellent

Additives can make up for some of the shortcomings of main salt. Such as excellent chloride galvanizing additives and chlorinated main salt

The depth capacity of the resulting bath is better than that of many cyanidation galvanizing baths.

 

 

 

③ Electroplating equipment

 

(1) Hanging device: square hanging device is used with square plating groove, circular hanging device is used with circular plating groove. Circle.

The shape of the groove and hanging device is more conducive to guarantee

 

The current distribution is uniform, and the square hanging device should be installed around the hanging device

Distributed current devices such as barbed wire or shortening the length of the anode plate on both sides;

 

(2) Stirring device: promote solution flow. Make the solution state evenly distributed, eliminate the bubble on the surface of the workpiece stay.

 

(3) Power supply: DC, good stability. The ripple coefficient is small.

 

 

 

Three, post-processing

 

After electroplating, the coating is treated to enhance various properties of the coating, such as corrosion resistance, resistance to color change Weldability, etc.

 

Dehydration treatment: add dehydrating agent in water, such as bright nickel plating after treatment passivation treatment; Improve the corrosion resistance of the coating,Such as galvanized anti-discoloration treatment: add anti-discoloration agents in water, such as silver plating, tin plating. Imitation gold plating, etc.

Improve solderability treatment: such as tin plating

 

Therefore, the quality of the post-treatment process directly affects the quality of these functions of the coating.
